Watch the Grunion Run
No, this isn't a 5K or a 10K. Grunion is a species of small, silvery fish that flops onto the beaches throughout Southern California each year in a primitive ritual of spawning. South Bay residents and visitors are fortunate, as one of the main landing spots for the grunion is near 33rd Street in Hermosa Beach! The peak spawning period is late March through early June and occurs at shortly after a midnight high tide when the moon is full.
