Knott’s Berry Farm
Knott's Berry Farm is located in Buena Park, California, about 45 minutes south of Los Angeles and five minutes west of Disneyland. Knott's really once was a berry farm. Walter Knott built a themed Ghost Town to entertain diners waiting for tables at his wife's fried chicken restaurant. Over the years, the park grew into a destination of its own. Today, the park is owned by the Cedar Fair company. Living in the shadows of Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm its own course in the late 1990s when the folks that operate Cedar Point bought the park and started building the roller coasters and thrill rides that made its Ohio park famous. You can still get Mrs. Knott's Famous Chicken Dinner and stock up on her boysenberry jam, but you might want to hold off until after you've endured the awesome Ghostrider wood coaster. Soak City, the affiliated water park located adjacent to Knott's Berry Farm, requires a separate admission. Younger kids will also love panning for gold, checking out the cowboys and varmints that roam the Ghost Town, and Camp Snoopy's collection of Peanuts-themed rides. Older kids and thrill-seeking adults will love the super-charged coasters and other high-octane rides. And everyone will love Knott's food and the overall experience.
